Story
A characterful set of 13th-century Foot Sergeants, representing the experienced fighting men who stood between the knightly elite and the ordinary feudal levy.
Throughout the 13th century, sergeants or serjeants formed an important part of medieval armies and military households. Although they were not normally knights, many were professional or semi-professional soldiers: retainers of noble households, castle garrisons, armed servants, guards and experienced campaigners. Some served mounted, while others fought on foot alongside knights, spearmen and other infantry.
Better equipped and more experienced than the typical levy, foot sergeants might carry swords, maces and shields and wear helmets, padded armour, mail or combinations of the three. They could guard a lord’s banner, defend a castle gate, accompany a raiding force or provide a dependable core around which less experienced troops could fight.
Designed for 28mm scale 3D printing. Bases provided. All models come pre-supported for easy printing.
