Avast ye Buccaneers and Cutthroats
Hoist the colors and ready your crew, because the sea is calling! Avast ye Buccaneers and Cutthroats is a cinematic skirmish wargame of daring raids, bloody boarding actions, and creating ruthless rivalries. Designed as a miniature agnostic low model count, the game gets you playing pirate battles without needing to paint or collect a massive army with a standard game of only seven figures. Every game is quick, brutal, and packed with memorable moments worthy of a pirate’s tale.
The Game
At its heart, Avast uses a unique Dice Action System which allows multiple actions during the turn each one adding a push your luck mechanic into the game full of tense decisions. Your crew’s weapons, knacks and actions are all tested by the roll of the bones – will your pistol miss, your cutlass strike true, or your foe outwit you in a deadly maneuver?
A paper version of the player docks and both decks of cards will be available to download and print yourself for free.
Campaign Play
The book includes a (up to) four player simultaneous narrative campaign. The seas are unforgiving, but renown and riches await the bold. As you battle across linked scenarios, your crew will:
Gain renown and riches.
Upgrade their weapons, knacks and equipment.
Earn legendary status or meet a watery grave.
The book also contains several regular one-shot scenarios as well when you just want to get into a quick game.
