The Smash List – Rules Agnostic Wild West Campaign for Skirmish Games Now Available

A System-Agnostic Campaign Supplement for Tabletop Skirmishes & RPGs

This is the first of soon to be many more, Wild West campaign overlay designed to drop seamlessly onto your favourite tabletop engine. I personally use it with Zombicide Undead or Alive, Forgotten West, and Tombstone.

The grand plan so of say, is to build a non-linear campaign to use with your favourite wild west miniatures and/or tabletop RPG games. This adds a layer of travel to go across the USA using a train system. You and your war band and team travel across the country in search of hunting the “Uglies” for some hard cash.

The ultimate goal is to save enough money to full fill your dream before the world comes to an end. And that dream is to open a Saloon of your very own. A place to pour drinks, wash off the dust, trade your scars, and live to tell a taller tale than anyone else.

🏜️ WHAT’S INSIDE THE ZINE

  • Full Campaign Overlay: Campaign progression, rail travel mechanics, bounty boards, and resource management rules to add on top of your tabletop game engines
  • 5 Ready-to-Run Scenarios: Modular mission structures and monster encounter tweaks to keep your games fast and tense. A total of 5 cities to start each with a custom mission.
  • Historical Based Missions: Each mission in this zine and future cities will be tied to a historical event. Each mission has a historical note attached to it giving a background on what inspired this mission.
  • The Map of Cities: This will give access to the Google My Maps page where you can find the most up to date cities and locations added as time goes on. There is even a contact page on who to give your suggestion on where to go next.

🎲 ENGINE COMPATIBILITY

This is a campaign supplement, not a standalone ruleset.

The 2 Pan Smash List provides the setting, campaign progression, rail travel, and mission overlays…you supply the core rules. It is designed to work out of the box with almost any 28mm Wild West skirmish system or tabletop RPG.

I personally Recommend System:

  • Zombicide: Undead or Alive
  • Dead Man’s Hand
  • Dracula’s America
  • Tombstone
  • Forgotten West
  • Or your favourite generic/custom tabletop ruleset!

🌵The Lay of the Land

Some say the “dust” came from the mines. Others say it was God’s answer to the rail companies expanding fast. The government doesn’t tell us anything and we reckon they’re trying to cover it up. But either way, the country is now overrun with the “Coughers”. All because of greed and corruption.

But you don’t care about any of that. You’ve got an iron skillet, a gun, and a dream…Opening your own saloon. A place to pour drinks, wash off the dust, trade your scars, and live to tell a taller tale than anyone else.

The Coughers are just obstacles between you and that saloon. Because the rich and powerful offer cash rewards to help clean up their mess, the Smash List. Find and get rid of these unholy creatures from this great country, all for stacks of cash.

🍳The 2 Pan Smash List

Since each game system has different monsters or as I call them “Uglies”, you just assign them to a number. Each one of those numbers is attached to a mission. During those missions, have a random way to pick a monster. In Zombicide Undead or Alive, you would just have those cards to the Abomination in a pile and pick on at random.

📑 WHAT YOU GET

🗓️Future Plans

I am designing this to be a nonlinear campaign system, meaning you could start anywhere and end up anywhere. You could start your team in say Denver, and by the time you get end opening your Saloon in Jacksonville FL. Who knows.

The current plan is to have anywhere between 6 to 12 missions per cities added. All based on historical events. You will meet both famous and infamous people form history who may or may not join your team and go bounty hunting.

Don’t worry if you die, as you probably will have your main leader die, and then have to switch to a new leader. But don’t worry they had the same dream. So, all you need to do is change the name of your saloon to the one they want.

The way this campaign ends is if you have all your war band characters die during a mission, or if you are lucky enough you open your saloon the moment you finish a mission where your will hit the $1,000 goal.
