Trenches are the most enduring visual legacy of the First World War. These defensive field works, which began as muddy rifle-scrapes in 1914, evolved into elaborate multi-layered systems, with dugouts, fire steps and emplacements placed in a zig-zag pattern stretching for miles and miles. By 1918, trenches had withstood almost all of the ferocious tools of war deployed by the warring nations.
For truly authentic games of 1918, therefore, you’re going to need some trench terrain. Our modular 28mm trench system now has a wide range of individual pieces, including straights, corners, emplacements and more – but filling up a full trench line with reserve trenches and all the rest is something of an investment.

We are also releasing barbed wire obstacle sections as the perfect accompaniment and can be used to deny key ground to enemy forces or slow down an attack on the emplacement or redoubt.
The Emplacement Bundle

This set contains five sections for our modular trench system, representing a gun emplacement. One section features an emplacement designed to fit a base up to 100mm, perfect for a field gun.
