A long running game of Mech battles, It had been expanded, updated and is still going strong after over 40 years.

It is the 31st century, a time of endless wars that rage across human-occupied space. As star empires clash, these epic wars are won and lost by BattleMechs, 30-foot-tall humanoid metal titans bristling with lasers, autocannons and dozens of other lethal weapons; enough firepower to level entire city blocks.

Your elite force of MechWarriors drives these juggernauts into battle, proudly holding your faction’s flag high, intent on expanding the power and glory of your realm. At their beck and call are the support units of armored vehicles, power armored infantry, aerospace fighters and more, wielded by a MechWarrior’s skillful command to aid him in ultimate victory. Will they become legends, or forgotten casualties? Only your skill and luck will determine their fate!

Turn-Based Tactical Combat

Hex-based grid:

Battles take place on a hexagonal grid map with terrain that affects movement and line-of-sight.
Mech Customization:

Players can assemble a “lance” of four mechs, choosing their chassis, weapons, armor, and other equipment.
Heat and Positioning:

Managing a mech’s heat is crucial; firing weapons generates heat, which can cause systems to malfunction. Strategic positioning is also key to utilizing weapon ranges and cover.
Targeting:

Players can target specific, independently armored parts of an enemy mech, allowing for targeted damage to legs (to knock them down) or arms (to destroy weapons).

BattleMechs (“‘Mechs”):

These are the iconic 12-meter (39 ft) tall, humanoid fighting machines powered by fusion reactors and armed with a variety of weapons.
MechWarriors:

The human pilots who command the BattleMechs.
The Inner Sphere:

The primary setting for the franchise, a sprawling region of space where various Great Houses compete for power and control.
Neo-Feudalism:

Due to the vast distances and slow interstellar communication, planetary governors have gained significant power, leading to a return of feudal structures.
