Dead Man’s Hand Redux

Dead Man’s Hand Redux is a refreshed, tactical Wild West skirmish game that retains the core mechanics of its predecessor while offering updated rules, new factions and miniatures, and expanded campaign options for players to relive cinematic Old West gunfights. The game focuses on fast-paced, turn-based action with a poker card initiative system and D20-based combat, allowing for quick tactical decisions in duels between rival gangs.

  • Updated Wild West Skirmish:
A modernized edition of a classic tabletop game, designed for tactical and narrative gameplay in the 19th-century American West.

  • Cinematic & Fast-Paced:
The gameplay aims to capture the dramatic tension and quick gunfights of classic Westerns.

  • Skirmish Wargame:
Players control small groups of fighters (gangs) in themed scenarios, moving them and fighting with dice rolls and cards.

Key Features:
  • Initiative System:
Players draw cards to determine the turn order for their characters, with the card’s number dictating their initiative.

  • D20 Combat:
Combat involves rolling a 20-sided die (D20) to hit opponents, with certain results resulting in hits or taking opponents out of the game.

  • Action-Based Turns:
Each character receives a set number of actions (like moving or shooting) per turn, which must be declared at the start of the turn.

  • Status Effects:
The game uses card stock tokens to represent various status effects that can impact characters during gameplay.

  • New Elements:
The Redux version introduces possibility of stampedes and updated rules, faction builds, and narrative depth.

What’s New in Redux:
  • Updated Rulebook:
The core rules have been refined, providing a fresh look at the established gameplay.

  • New Factions & Miniatures:
The Redux edition features redesigned plastic miniatures and introduces new factions like the Texas Rangers and The Family.

  • Campaign System:
An easy-to-use campaign system has been added to allow for more persistent and narrative-driven gameplay.

  • Improved Components:
The starter sets now include plastic buildings, boardwalks, and detailed street scatter to create immersive table environments.
