Palaeo Diet: Eat or be Eaten

Palaeo Diet: Eat or be Eaten is a miniature tabletop wargame where players control prehistoric hunting parties in a survival scenario. Players hunt for food, craft tools, and avoid becoming prey themselves, using mechanics like dice rolls to determine animal reactions and a meter system for movement. The game can be played solo or with multiple players and features scenarios and creature reaction rules designed for a realistic, unforgiving prehistoric world.

  • Objective: Survive by providing for your tribe. The premise is that you are not at the top of the food chain.
  • Movement: Uses a meter system for movement rather than traditional measuring sticks
  • Animal Behavior: A key mechanic is the animal’s reaction to being hunted. This is determined by rolling a die and consulting a chart, which plots the result against the current situation (e.g., close hunters).
  • Combat: The game features a “eat or be eaten” dynamic, where animals will either flee or attack, depending on the situation.
  • Crafting: Players can craft items like torches, axes, and spears to gain new skills and use in challenges.
  • Scenarios: Different scenarios can be set up for both solo and multiplayer games.
