Torch & Shield

Torch & Shield is skirmish game that blends dungeon-crawling with tactical, “crunchy” combat. Players lead small bands of dwarves into ruined, monster-infested ruins to secure treasure, often fighting both rival player-controlled crews and AI-driven monsters. Key mechanics include a 5-7 model warband limit, card-driven initiative, and a crucial “light” system where darkness makes monsters stronger.

In Torch & Shield you will assemble and control a hardy delving crew from one of the twelve great Dwarf clans and head into your ancestral underworld to claim the gold within. You must choose your equipment well and carefully weigh your tactics if you are to defeat your rival kinsmen and get to the riches before they do. Most of all you must keep your torches burning, for when all the lights go out the monsters will come from the deep.
