Battleforged Wargame

by Chris Fox

Ten millennia have passed since the last epoch of the Godswar. In that time the nature of warfare has changed.

Enter the Battleforged Novels. The Combat Drop prequel story is available to read for free right now if you want to see the setting in action.

Demons, necromancers and their unliving minions, dragons, planetstriders, and countless other foes were simply too lethal for conventional infantry, even backed up by tanks, spellships, and conventional mecha.

Enter avatars, 20 meter tall war machines with a beating heart of divine magic called a core. Unlike conventional mecha avatars are immune to mortal spellcasting, which allowed them to go toe to toe with most threats.

Only gods or elder dragons are a true counter, and even the dragons have adopted avatars on the battlefield, because it makes their hatchlings a force to be reckoned with.

About the Game

Battleforged is miniature agnostic, meaning literally any fantasy or sci-fi miniature can be statted up and used on the table.

Battles typically take between 1-2 hours for a platoon (5 v 5), and about 3-4 hours for a full company (15 v 15). Different factions field different forces, so it’s not uncommon to have avatars, and greater bonecrusher demons, an elder dragon, or whatever else you can imagine and dream up stats for on the table at the same time.

Gameplay comes in two modes. In Head to Head you have a battle scenario, victory conditions, and objectives worth points just like Warhammer AOS, or Battletech Alpha Strike.
