At the heart of an ancient world lies a forest.
An seemingly endless sea of leaves, woven through with rushing rivers, dark swamps, and low mountain ranges, all teeming with life.
The inhabitants of this world call it simply the Great Forest.
You will search for humans here in vain.
Between the trunks of the ancient trees live other peoples. Beings who may seem small at first glance. Yet in the shadow of the towering trees, they are destined for greatness.
In ages long past, they were insignificant, though still part of the world around them.
Then something happened that changed everything.
No one truly knows where they came from. Some say they suddenly grew from the earth like strange flowers of light. Others claim they fell from the sky. One thing alone is certain:
With the arrival of the crystals, a new age began.
Magical energies flowed from them spreading throughout the entire forest.
Some creatures mutated uncontrollably. Others, whose nature resonated with the power of the crystals, were transformed to their advantage. They developed mental abilities and physical strength that allowed them to rise above their former limits.
Thus, they formed communities unlike anything the Great Forest had ever seen.
Cities and entire civilizations arose where once there had been nothing but simple burrows in the earth.
But this awakening did not bring only good. For the growing civilizations of the forest’s peoples now stood opposed to one another as never before.
For the forest is vast, but not without limits.
Food sources must be defended. Territories are claimed to shelter expanding communities. And above all stand the magical crystals, appearing again and again throughout the forest, filled with power and desired by all.
And so began a restless age.
An age of battles and heroes, who would decide the fate of the Great Forest.
