7TV – 2nd Edition

If there is a show or movie, you thought would make a great tabletop skirmish game – then you will be able to play it with Crooked Dice’s 7TV rules.

7TV is a miniatures skirmish game that enables you to re-create the action set pieces of your favourite movies and tv series, or invent entirely new productions straight out of your imagination – on the tabletop!

The basics

7TV is designed for 28mm miniatures and requires only a few models per side – 8 or fewer models for an average game. Models are represented by generic profiles detailing their physical and mental stats along with any special abilities and attacks they might get.

It’s a sandbox

7TV is the perfect sandbox game – allowing you to pick from a huge range of cinematic archetypes to play any type of game, with any miniatures, in any setting! Pitting stalwart heroes against villainous alien invaders or zombie hordes or secret ninja commandoes is easy with 7TV’s intuitive and dynamic ruleset.

It’s a skirmish game

7TV has lots of similarities with other wargames. In addition to these rules, you’ll need an opponent to play against, miniature models, dice, some tokens, and a flat surface to play on. You and your rival will each choose your forces and pit them against one another in any setting you can imagine from seedy city streets to ancient Mars to lost temples and postapocalyptic wastelands. 7TV’s borders are the limits of your imagination and your love of film and television.

Key Features
  • Cinematic Sandbox:
Players can recreate popular TV shows or movies, or invent entirely new stories, using any miniatures and settings they can imagine.

  • Director Role:
Instead of a war game, 7TV is a game where you direct an action sequence, much like a TV show or movie director.

  • Casts:
Instead of warbands, players use “casts” of models, which are categorized as Stars, Co-Stars, and Extras, each with different abilities and values.

  • Plot Points:
Players generate and spend Plot Points to activate models, move them, use special abilities, or add dice to their attack and defense rolls.

  • Scripts and Props:
The game uses script decks and prop cards to add narrative elements and special in-game effects, enhancing the storytelling and humor.

  • Episodic Gameplay:
Games are played as “episodes,” culminating in a finale.
