Armati – 2nd Edition

Armati is a set of wargaming rules for simulating battles of the Ancient, Medieval, and Renaissance periods, designed for players of historical miniature armies. The game system emphasizes strategic planning and execution of tactics over individual unit maneuvers, incorporating a unique command system to reduce the “helicopter view” advantage and control unit movement. It features flexible army building with a points system for armies from various eras, aiming for a fast-paced, engaging, and historically grounded experience within a couple of hours.

Key Features
  • Historical Eras:
Covers Ancient, Medieval, and Renaissance periods, offering a broad scope for diverse armies.

  • Tactical Focus:
Stresses careful battle planning and execution, rewarding good historical tactics rather than complex bookkeeping or micromanagement.

  • Army Building:
Players build their armies to scale (Intro, Optimal, or Epic) and use a points system to equalize armies of comparative abilities.

  • Streamlined Play:
The rules are designed for clarity, with simple mechanics and clear explanations, making a complete game playable in under two hours.

  • Objective:
Victory is typically achieved by breaking a certain number of an opponent’s “critical units,” which are specific to each army.
