Battletech Gothic

BattleTech: Gothic is a standalone, non-canon tabletop boxed set that reimagines the traditional sci-fi universe in a dark, grim, and horrific alternate timeline. Serving as the inaugural release of the BattleTech Continuum series—which explores unique “what-if” alternate realities—the setting pits modified BattleMechs against monstrous bioengineered horrors known as Abominations

Core Gameplay & Mechanics
  • 99% Core Rules Compatible: The game utilizes standard Classic BattleTech and Alpha Strike rules as its foundation, allowing you to easily integrate its content with existing collections.
  • The Abominations: Players face bio-organic threats born from cybernetic and genetic experimentation. These monsters introduce a unique horde-style “zombie survival” mode where players navigate overwhelming asymmetric waves.
  • Horde & Swarm Rules: Abomination mechanics act as a streamlined substitute for infantry/combined-arms rules, featuring smaller creatures that physically latch onto BattleMechs to inflict direct structural damage.
Box Contents
  • Gothic BattleMechs: Features 7 high-quality, pre-assembled plastic miniatures built with an aggressive, gothic aesthetic (such as integrated blades and alternate panel designs). The lineup includes modified variants of the UrbanMech, Firestarter, Scorpion, Phoenix Hawk, Rifleman, Marauder, and King Crab.
  • Customizable Atlas: Includes 1 premium multi-part Atlas miniature featuring 5 interchangeable faction heads and distinct bas-relief customization options representing the unique factions of the setting.
  • Abomination Tokens: Includes full abomination rules, stat sheets, and game cards, though the creatures themselves are represented by cardstock hexagon tokens rather than plastic miniatures.
  • Printed Assets: Packed with a full 120-page Rulebook, a 72-page Universe Primer detailing the lore, a fiction novella, 8 Pilot Cards, 14 Alpha Strike Cards, and dry-eraseable laminated record sheets.
  • Double-Sided Mapsheet: Features a heavily cratered trench-filled war zone on one side and a destroyed, post-apocalyptic cityscape on the reverse
Setting & Lore

The setting, known as the Human Sphere rather than the Inner Sphere, diverges from the main timeline around the year 305. In this reality, the fall of humanity’s Golden Age sparked the “Endless War”. To break the stalemate, peripheral worlds turned to a radical genetic practice called grafting, forging massive biological abominations of melded flesh and machine. In response, the fractured dynasties of the Great Realms reforged themselves into grim religious orders, building specialized, heavily armored BattleMechs to cleanse the mutated threat.
