Bloody Hollow

Bloody Hollow is a 28mm solo and cooperative American Gothic horror miniatures game. Heavily inspired by Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, players build a band of late-1700s colonial mercenaries and arcane investigators to save a haunted Hudson Valley from dark forces and ultimately defeat the Headless Horseman.

Core Gameplay & Setup

Format: Solo or cooperative play for 1–5 players acting against the game itself.
Table Size: Played on a compact 3′ x 3′ table space with terrain.
Miniatures Agnostic: Players can use, sculpt, kitbash, or 3D-print any miniatures they want.
RPG Mechanics: Characters utilize distinct character sheets to track stats, gear, and progression.

Character Creation

Players build characters using simple core stats (Brawn, Deft, Wits) and assign points into gear. There are five specialized backgrounds to choose from:

Investigator
Soldier
Scholar
Hunter / Jaeger
Witchblood

Campaign Mechanics

The core of the game is a narrative, linked campaign where players fight off monsters while investigating supernatural clues. Rounds are structured into a Hero phase, Villager phase, and Monster phase. Missions feature high-stakes mechanics where protecting town villagers is vital; if villagers die, players lose access to critical goods, information, and the town edges closer to total destruction
