Brutal Epic

Brutal Epic allows players to engage in epic battles using either 6mm scale or 28mm scale miniatures to represent giant monsters, mechs, and superheroes, or traditional heroes and villains respectivelyA rules adaptation of the Brutality wargame, it features a dual-scale system where players create their own warbands, build custom stat profiles for their units, and battle on a 3×3 foot table. The game incorporates destructible environments, exploding miniatures, and a “stress” mechanic that can be used for extra actions but also causes self-damage, adding a brutal and high-stakes element to the gameplay.

Dual Scale & Themes
  • 6mm Scale: For epic battles involving giant monsters (Kaiju), massive mechs, and superheroes.
  • 28mm Scale: For more tactical skirmishes with heroes, villains, and police forces.
  • Model Agnostic: The game is not tied to a specific miniature manufacturer, allowing players to use models from various sources.
Gameplay Mechanics
  • Custom Warbands:
Players create their own units and design custom stat profiles for them on warband roster sheets.

  • Stress Mechanic:
A unique system where units accumulate stress to perform powerful actions or gain rerolls. However, too much stress can lead to self-inflicted damage, reflecting the brutality of battle.

  • Destructible Environments:
Buildings and miniatures can explode when destroyed, adding dynamic and chaotic elements to the game.

  • D10 Dice:
The game heavily utilizes the D10 for checks, movement, and combat resolution.

  • Activation Phases:
Each turn, models have activation phases for actions like movement, combat, and interacting with objectives.

Unique Features
  • Epic Scope:
The game allows for truly “epic” battles, whether it’s giant robots smashing cities or superheroes battling interdimensional threats.

  • Interplay of Scales:
Players can even conduct simultaneous ground and space battles, integrating their activations to support each other, in the case of combined space and ground combat.

  • Solo and Cooperative Play:
The game supports solo and cooperative campaigns, with a beautifully designed AI table to control the opposition.
