CAV: Strike Operations is a 23rd-century, sci-fi tabletop wargame where players command factions of massive mechs, tanks, and infantry. Developed by Talon Games and featuring designs by Reaper Miniatures, the system is built on an innovative damage track mechanic designed for fast-paced, tactical skirmish combat.

Core Mechanics & Gameplay

Scale & Setting: The game features highly detailed 10mm-scale mechs—known as Combat Assault Vehicles (CAVs)—as well as armor and infantry.
Damage Track System: Instead of straightforward health pools, models have damage tracks. As a mech takes damage, its speed and weapons degrade, making each unit weaker but still functional until destroyed.
Combat Types: Ranged combat resolves via Direct Attacks (DA) or Indirect Attacks (IA), using the model’s Ranged Attack Value (RAV) compared to the target’s Defensive Value (DV).
Movement: Movement is flexible; models can use repeatable actions to reposition up to 24 inches per turn, though this is modified by terrain.
