Dropfleet Commander is the orbital space game in the Dropzone series of games from TT Combat. Ships from the 6 factions fight it out in this alternating activation game. Objectives usually involve using your dropships to land troops or other features on the planet or space stations and take controls of key points.
Dropfleet uses a innovative range mechanism where ships line of sight and visibility may vary depending on their actions. A ship that just fired all of it’s weapons lights up making it a target for other ship, other ships may opt for Silent Running to hide, but it is hard to kill the enemy if your not firing your weapons.
The six factions include UCM, Scourge, PHR, Shaltari, Resistance and Bioficer, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses.
Played on a 4′ x 4″ or larger table battles can get bloody fast. A large range of ships are available from light, medium, heavy and colossal
While Dropfleet Commander is the Orbital version of game. Other versions include Dropzone Commander (10mm planet based) and the upcoming games Striketeam Commander and Battlezone Commander (32mm versions the game playing interiors combat and exterior combat respectively.
