Flintlogue: The Napoleonique Skirmish Game – 3rd Edition

Flintloque is a character-driven, skirmish-level tabletop miniature wargame set in an alternate-history fantasy world called the World of Valon.

Setting and Theme
  • Napoleonic Parody: The game blends traditional fantasy elements with early 19th-century black powder warfare, heavily inspired by the Napoleonic Wars and media like the Sharpe television series.
  • Racial Nations: Standard fantasy races represent real historical nations. For example, the French are Elves, the British are Orcs, Germans are Dwarves, Portuguese are Goblins, and Russians are the Undead.
  • Magic and Muskets: Traditional magic largely takes a backseat, replaced by the chaotic noise, smoke, and lethality of muskets, pistols, and cannons.
Gameplay
  • Scale: Designed for small actions ranging from half a dozen to fifty miniatures per side, focusing on section-level skirmishes rather than massive grand armies.
  • Mechanics: The rules emphasize fast-paced playability with minimal bookkeeping. Turns utilize initiative rolls (using d10s), alternating character activations, and tactical movements, followed by aiming, firing, and resolving hits.
  • Tone: Unlike grittier historical games, Flintloque maintains a distinctly humorous and satirical edge in its naming conventions, character traits, and scenarios. [1, 2]
