Ghostwatcher

Ghostwatcher is a casual, collaborative tabletop miniatures wargame where players control a team of ghost hunters livestreaming their search for paranormal activity inside a haunted mansion. The game relies on a streamlined D6 system and is played over three distinct phases: the Stream, Spirit, and Audience phases.

Key Gameplay Phases
  • Stream Phase: Hunters search individual rooms in the house for “figments” to learn necessary information about the mansion’s ghost.
  • Spirit Phase: The ghost acts independently, attacking random rooms, moving furniture, and raising the hunters’ collective “fear level”.
  • Audience Phase: Hunters spend earned Audience Points to buy upgrades and special benefits to assist in their hunt.
  • Banishment Ritual: Once all figments are found, the spirit materializes and directly targets the team for a final banishment.
Core Mechanics
  • Dice System: Players roll dice equal to their hunter’s skill value. Results of 6 are successes, while rolling a 1 increases the team’s fear level.
  • Defeat Condition: If the team’s fear level becomes too high, the hunters become too frightened to complete the investigation and the players lose the game.
