Hammer of Democracy: Friendly Battle Rules for WWII

Hammer of Democracy is a fast-paced, rules-light tabletop wargame set in World War II. Designed for quick pick-up games and campaigns, it focuses on platoon-to-company level engagements. The game uses standard six-sided dice, features simple order-based command mechanics, and handles combined arms tactics without getting bogged down in complex charts.

Core Features & Mechanics
  • Fast Play: It aims to resolve most turns in around 5 minutes. Core mechanics use 2D6 instead of massive “bucket of dice” rolling.
  • Command System: Uses an intuitive order system where command flexibility varies based on your troops (e.g., Germans getting more command freedom than the British). Orders can be used to move, engage, defend, or regroup.
  • Support System: Focuses heavily on combined arms by tying in weapons like MMGs, anti-tank guns, and off-map artillery to control open ground and force tactical decisions.
  • No Re-basing Needed: The game is miniature-agnostic; you do not need to re-base your existing miniatures to play. You can use individual bases or team stands.
  • Army Building: Includes profiles for common WWII vehicles and anti-tank guns for the US, UK, USSR, and Germany, alongside a point-cost formula so you can easily stat out custom units.
  • Generators: The game includes scenario generators and random army generators, making it highly replayable and suitable for solo gaming.
