Incountry: 2nd Edition Ultramodern Combat

INCOUNTRY is a fast-paced, ultra-modern tabletop miniatures wargame focused on small-scale modern infantry skirmishes and military intelligence gambles. Originally created by Enemy Spotted Studios, the game property was later acquired by the veteran-owned Echo Dark Studios, which released the highly anticipated 2nd Edition (INX 2).

Designed to simulate realistic, hyper-lethal firefights without complex math, games are highly tactical and play efficiently in about 30 to 45 minutes.

Core Gameplay Mechanics

- D10 System: Attacks rely on rolling 10-sided dice against a weapon’s attack value. Equal or lower rolls result in a hit.
- Ultra-Lethal Damage: If damage exceeds a unit’s defense, they are killed outright (headshot). Otherwise, the unit must roll an armor save.
- Reaction Tokens: Activated units can take a reaction token to perform overwatch or counter-attacks during an opponent’s turn.
- Pregame Intel Phase: Players engage in a unique bluffing and betting phase using intel cards to shape the battlefield conditions before miniatures even move.
- Tactical Maneuvers: Simple, intuitive mechanics simulate real-world tactics like suppression, morale, and using a “lean out” token to fire around corners without abandoning cover.

Game Structure and Compatibility

Miniature Agnostic: While official, highly detailed 28mm modern military miniatures are available, you can use any 28mm figures you already own (such as PMC, US Rangers, insurgents, or Russian forces).
Scale: Designed primarily for a small 2′ x 2′ board with 4v4 or 6v6 team sizes, though it scales up easily to include armor and larger squads.
