Rebels and Patriots

Rebels and Patriots focuses on small-scale battles and skirmishes fought in North America from the French and Indian War through the American Civil War.It uses a simplified points system to build armies and resolve combat through dice rolls, focusing on mechanics like unit activation, movement, shooting, and morale, with cover and leadership playing important roles in gameplay. The ruleset is designed for fast play and supports a variety of historical conflicts, allowing players to recreate campaigns and engagements from these eras.  

• Historical Focus: 

  The game covers North American conflicts including the French and Indian Wars, the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Alamo, and the American Civil War. 
• Core Mechanics: 

  Players activate units by rolling dice, with modifiers from factors like a unit’s formation and experience. Combat involves moving units, shooting, and taking morale tests, with units suffering “disorder markers” that affect their performance and can lead to routs. 
• Army Building: 

  A point-based system allows players to build custom armies for different historical scenarios. 
• Fast Play & Simplicity: 

  The rules are designed for quick play with a few dozen models per side, building on the mechanics of other popular Osprey rulebooks. 
• Campaigns and Scenarios: 

  The rules include basic campaign mechanics and a variety of battle scenarios, but also provide flexibility for players to create their own historical scenarios.
