Scrappers: Post-Apocalyptic Wargames

More than 150 years have passed since the apocalypse that nearly destroyed the Earth. Today, the planet is a torn remnant of its former glory, ravaged by nuclear fallout and mutagens. New lifeforms – Mutants and Synthetics – challenge True Humanity for dominance, while warring factions compete for survival and supremacy, and all must carve out their place in this brutal landscape, or else perish as billions before them.

Scrappers is a skirmish miniatures game set in the wastelands, where players assemble Scrapper Crews and send them out to scavenge scraps of Ancient technology and battle rival factions. Explorers, cultists and raiders clash with mutated creatures, robotic soldiers and embittered True Humans in this wargame of salvage and survival in the ruins of the future.

Players command crews in a future ravaged by a failed AI, competing to scavenge valuable “scrap” and advanced technology from ruins to gain power and dominance over the wasteland. The game features a unique, technologically advanced post-apocalyptic setting where humanity interacts with mutated creatures and rival factions, such as the Architects, the Gamma Lords, and the Sons of Entropy, in a struggle for survival. Players use any suitable miniatures to represent their chosen faction’s crew and engage in tactical combat scenarios.

Key Aspects of Scrappers
  • Setting:
A futuristic, technologically advanced post-apocalyptic world, rather than the typical desert setting.

  • Gameplay:
Miniatures-based skirmish game, focusing on tactical combat and survival.

  • Factions:
Players can choose from various factions with different ideologies, such as the human-purist Architects or the mutant Gamma Lords.

  • Goal:
The primary objective is to gather scrap and ancient technology from dangerous ruins to further your faction’s power and influence.

  • Miniature-Agnostic:
The game does not have its own dedicated miniatures line, allowing players to use models from any manufacturer.

  • Factions & Creatures:
Players will encounter a wide range of threats, including embittered survivors, cults, mutated animals, robotic soldiers, and even sentient, dangerous “Omega Zone” anomalies like sentient vampire trees.

  • Game Mechanics:
Features dice rolling, particularly opposed d10 rolls for resolution, and a system for choosing player initiative that generates tactical decision-making.

  • Campaign Play:
Scenarios are often tied into a campaign, providing long-term progression where players might encounter random events and use a trauma table to affect their wounded models.

  • Setting the Scene:
The world is a harsh landscape where mutated plants and animals coexist with human survivors and cults dedicated to the surviving AIs, 150 years after a devastating apocalypse.
