Whispers of the Deep

Beneath the broken surface of the world lies Tolkas, a drowned city lost to time and shadows. Its streets twist through flooded plazas and decaying halls, where spirits drift like fog and strange flora sit waiting for a victim. 

Every step in Tolkas is a descent. Every corner holds a memory half-buried in silt and mold. This is a place where the treasure glimmers just out of reach, and where the deep always watches.

• Setup: Played on a compact 2×2 tabletop.
• Crew Size: Small-scale skirmishes using only 2–3 miniatures per side.
• Dice System: Uses a simple D8 dice pool based on four primary unit stats: Move, Brains, Brawn, and Armor.
• The Escalation Mechanic: As players mine treasure, fight, or cause chaos, the “danger level” rises. This triggers aggressive ruin spirits via event cards, making the remaining treasure more valuable but significantly harder to escape with.
• Tactile Inventory: The core game incorporates physical punchout item and stash tokens to manage what your characters are carrying.

• The Delver: A mystical soul bound to a physical vessel that acts as your primary leader.
• The Fellows: A small band of hired crew members brought along to help mine and protect the loot.
