Yafsiga is a diceless, mini-agnostic fantasy skirmish wargame. Set in the overgrown ruins of a fallen kingdom known as “The Bloomsreach,” players command custom-built warbands using standard playing cards to activate units, execute combat maneuvers, and resolve scenarios.
Setting & Lore
The Bloom: The prosperous kingdom of Yafseo was devastated overnight by an eldritch event called “the Bloom,” leaving behind silent, overgrown ruins and an eerie, unnatural spring.
The Bloomsreach: The region is now a perilous no-man’s land. Mercenaries, adventurers, and sellswords brave its dangers to secure priceless relics, territory, and renown.
Core Mechanics
Diceless System: Instead of dice, the game utilizes a standard deck of playing cards (with at least two jokers) to drive gameplay. Face cards are used to activate your units, while numbered cards are used to cinch successes in combat.
Mini-Agnostic: You are not locked into a specific miniature line. Players can use whatever 28mm to 32mm fantasy models they already own or prefer.
Warband Creation: Features a points-budgeted roster system that allows you to blend wargaming with roleplaying. You build your warband from scratch, outfitting them with custom stats, weapons, and specialized equipment.
Gameplay Features
Scenario Generator: A bespoke scenario generator ensures that objectives and table conditions change, meaning no two games play out exactly the same.
Narrative Campaigns: Beyond standalone skirmishes, the game includes a deep campaign system. Warbands grow in renown, suffer permanent injuries, recruit memorable merchants, and even interact with map-based area-control mechanics (such as in the Shores of the Bloomsreach expansion).
