Obskura Clearance – Modern Warfare with an Occult Flavor Skirmish Game – Now available from Horror Vacui

The first documented Apotheosis event occurred in the third year of the war.
Strategic doctrine was revised to prevent and exploit subsequent events.
Conflicts are now decided by surgical use of occult warfare. Such operations are internationally classified under the OBSKURA CLEARANCE denomination.
Due to the existential risks involved, civilian awareness is actively suppressed.

OBSKURA CLEARANCE is a skirmish game of modern warfare where the occult has become part of military doctrine. Players control a roster of six Operators, deployed alone in solo-coop missions against esoteric threats, sometimes beyond human comprehension. It is miniature and scale agnostic, meaning that you can use any model you prefer, and that you can make the board any size you like because all distances are measured in Marks, an abstract unit that you can define as you please.

In a game, deployment mimics how the Operators exploit intelligence to create the perfect killbox. Operators will have a limited window to complete mission, often with objectives that can evolve unpredictably over time. Operator will need to rely on conventional warfare and Hermeticas, occult procedures absorbed in the military doctrine. Hostile Tangos will respond following a diverse set of behaviours, each one with unique movement patterns, priority targets, and ways to attack.

You can chain multiple games in a campaign using a framework inspired by the Powered By The Apocalypse system, where you define what’s at stake before every mission, and how the setting changes irrevocably should you fail or succeed.

Finally a set of practical instructions guides you how to create your own material to further enhance your experience.

You can find a free primer of the game also on wargames vault here.
