THE FAILED: EXPERIMENTAL BATTALION 13
They were sent to win a war.
They returned as something that should never have existed.
During the final years of the Great War, a secret military program attempted to create soldiers capable of surviving poison gas, devastating injuries and unbearable battlefield conditions. The experiments succeeded—but at a terrible cost.
The surviving subjects became Experimental Battalion 13, now remembered only as The Failed: six commanders transformed by steel, chemicals and forbidden procedures.
This Kickstarter introduces the first digital miniature collection set in the dark universe of The Failed.

Our goal is to expand this universe through future kits featuring new soldiers, commanders, creatures, battlefield scenery and complete forces for horror-themed wargaming.

MEET EXPERIMENTAL BATTALION 13
THE CRAWLER — ARTHUR KELLER
Once a reconnaissance soldier, Arthur Keller survived an experimental procedure that fused his body with a reinforced mechanical frame. He now moves across the battlefield on four limbs, protected by heavy armour and an industrial gas mask.
Fast, relentless and almost impossible to stop, the Crawler hunts through ruins and trenches in search of anything still alive.
THE OFFICER — ELIAS VARN
Elias Varn was once the commanding officer of Battalion 13. The experiments preserved his tactical mind but transformed his body into a grotesque multi-armed weapon.
Still carrying his officer’s sword, Varn continues to command the Failed with cold military precision. Whatever remains behind his sealed mask no longer remembers defeat—or mercy.
THE BELLMAN — SAMUEL CROWE
Samuel Crowe carries the Ritual Bell through the devastated battlefields. Its sound does not call soldiers to formation—it awakens the dead and guides the Failed through the smoke.
Tall, silent and unnaturally thin, the Bellman announces the arrival of Battalion 13 long before it can be seen.
THE TWINS
Two soldiers entered the laboratory. Only one body emerged.
The Twins are a horrifying fusion of flesh, armour and machinery: two minds trapped inside a single massive form. Armed with a brutal heavy weapon and monstrous claws, they act with disturbing coordination.
No one knows whether the two minds still speak to each other—or whether something else now controls them both.
THE HEAVY — LEONHARD METZGER
Leonhard Metzger was selected for experiments designed to create an unstoppable assault soldier. His body grew beyond human proportions and was sealed inside layers of reinforced armour.
Dragging an enormous industrial weapon, the Heavy advances without fear, crushing barricades, vehicles and anyone unfortunate enough to stand in his path.
SUBJECT XIII
The records concerning Subject XIII were deliberately destroyed.
Unlike the other members of Battalion 13, its transformation appears neither mechanical nor entirely human. Its elongated limbs, skeletal armour and enormous claws suggest that the experiment opened a door to something far older than the war.
Subject XIII is not given orders. It is simply released.
