For weeks you’ve tracked the spirit of the lich, investigating how to end his reign of terror once and for all. At last you’ve arrived at the vault containing his soul receptacle, the single tether anchoring him to this realm. Cresting a sandy hill, you see it – an ancient, crumbling pyramid, covered in esoteric runework and bathed in the soft light of jagged crystals, pulsing with power. Everything seems still and quiet, except for that feeling… a jittering in your muscles… a crawling at the back of your neck… Something sinister and very, very old stirs beyond the threshold.
