TT Combat Has 6 New Releases for Dropfleet Commander

Bioficer Space Stations

Since the Bioficers have predominantly been a raiding force, their space stations were expected to be rare. However, larger incursions have been accompanied by orbitals. These arrive as their ships do, but then hold station, ominously, over a target planet. This, coupled with their vast scale and offensive designs, may be the point: to sow terror amongst a world’s populace.

First encountered was the Hypersummoner. Although Bioficer code cannot make foldspace jumps without terminal degradation, they have a form of teleport technology, but quite different from Shaltari gates. A stable, wormhole-like anomaly is opened within a ring-like structure, and anything large enough can simply pass through from some other place. No teleport web is required. Previous examples have only been large enough for small strike craft. The Hypersummoner is vast enough for frigates to glide through.

Another design, the Hypershredder, is likely a twisted derivative of this technology. It is a city-destroying, despair-generating nightmare. It projects a city-wide beam of dimensional instability right through ships, atmosphere, and rock. There, it randomly jumps chunks of matter a foot or two in either direction, rending it into disconnected wreckage and sheared corpses.

M.A.B 67 Fuel Transport

The Maganum Asset Bureau was once one of the largest civilian infrastructure manufactureres in the colonies prior to the inception of the UCM. Hailing from a relatively quiet colony with a focus on agriculture, the M.A.B. developed and put into service a multitude of logistical vessels. Many were designed to transport Maganum’s bountiful harvests to other colony worlds, such as the M.A.B 45 and 46, with holds designed to keep live seafood and store masses of frozen produce, keeping the colonies main source of protein moving.

Then there was the M.A.B 67, arguably, the Bureau’s most successful design. This transport is able to safely carry an exceptional volume of various types of fuel, from Magnnum’s simple biofuels, to the hypercompressed metallic hydrogen that keeps the UCM war machine running. Built to exacting standards, the 67 has one of the strongest and most reliable power plants for a ship of its size. As it was never expected to see actual combat, the reactors do not have the automatic shutdown safeties of UCM combat ships, indeed if the ship were to see combat, it is quite possible that any damage to the reactors could cause a major containment breach, flooding compartments with highly volatile plasma.

The ubiquity of the line meant that they were scattered far and wide at the time of the Scourge invasion; now there are 67’s amongst almost all the major players of the time. The UCM have continued to produce small numbers of this ship, while M.A.B has dwindled, they still produce original and updated designs and have mostly superseded the 67 with the much more efficient 198, a built for purpose, clearly UCM design. The Scourge have re-purposed may of these ships into water transports and rarely use them for transporting fuel, while the PHR still make use of refit variants for their logistics purposes. Many of these have been seen in resistance hands, several are part of the Vega Scrapfleet and Kalium have seemingly gotten or reverse engineered the designs to product more ships of the class, though are much more reckless with them than any other faction.

Francis Mendoza ‘Flying Dutchman’ – UCM

Captain Francis Mendoza has destroyed more enemy tonnage than any other colonial officer of his rank, earning notoriety since the 1st Battle of Olympus, where his Crimson Heart took nine capital-ship kills before being crippled. His relentless, narrow focus on destruction stalled his career, but the Admiralty has now entrusted him with a new experimental command.

The Flying Dutchman is a one-of-a-kind heavy cruiser built for brief, high-intensity missions. It is exceptionally fast for its tonnage, thanks to added engines, and armed with an aggressive weapons suite at the cost of ammunition and endurance. Its extreme short-range operational window may limit wider adoption, but Mendoza is considered the ideal captain for such a ship-killer.

Camilla Felix ‘Nanomatrix’ – PHR

Camilla Felix, younger sister of famed war leader Aurellia Felix, shares her sister’s charisma but is more impulsive, limiting her rise in the Grand Fleet. Known for individuality, humanity, and combat skill, she joined Aurellia’s schism with a loyal flotilla. When an arrest was attempted, her crew resisted, and Camilla fought her way out, marking the first major PHR-on-PHR Clash.

She commands the Nanomatrix, a unique heavy cruiser featuring an extra primary engine, sleek hull, prow-mounted energy glaive, and advanced power core. Its defining trait is an enormous nanomachine hive, enabling rapid repairs and devastating nano-swarms. The ship’s sophistication and cost suggest it is a one-of-a-kind design.

MK Mass Transporter

MK Mass Transporter It’s a tough job hauling cargo from ground to space, but the Maganum Kinematics Mass Transporter takes it all in its stride. This reliable workhorse can be frequently seen flitting between orbit and atmosphere collecting and dispensing valuable cargo. During the reconquest, the durable, yet lightly armoured spaceframe of this vessel was used as a second line support vessel assisting troopships in setting up forward operating bases. Full of prefabricated barricades, fire-support bunkers, and even command centres, this small hauler vastly improves the efficiency of troops deployed to combat zones. Keeping the war machine well equipped, well stocked, and with a relatively comfortable, if cramped base to strike out at Scourge targets from.

Even though their primary contracts are with the UCM, Maganum Kinematics have sold many of these to other non government organisations. Various shipping magnates operate at least one of these reliable ships at each of their destinations. More surprisingly, even other factions have been making use of these vessels. The PHR stationed at Earth have requisitioned a pair of these ships, as well as Kalium counting no fewer than four of these vessels amongst its fleet, though only two have been seen operating in the vicinity of Earth.

Asteroid Space Station

Some space stations are not purpose built installations but are instead haphazard outposts constructed in and on top of particularly large asteroids. Anything with the structural integrity to be drilled into and surface structures bolted on top is a viable target for frontier outposts, monitoring stations, and mining hubs. Many of these feature stripped down hardpoints that are able to connect to standardised space station features, making these incredibly versatile yet confusing structures with gravity pointing in whatever direction is convenient.
