TTCombat Releases New Infantry Faction Sets for Dropzone Commander

UCM Legionnaires

The Colonial Legions are the majority of the UCMA’s fighting soldiers. They must face untold horrors in the name of humanity, armed with only a UM-3 rifle and basic but well-proven kit. One Legionnaire per 5-man team carries a UM-105 Missile Launcher for anti-armour firepower. What they lack in extravagance they make up for in resolve, courage, and above all, numbers. Each Legion contains around one million war fighters. However, the UCM sells the lives of its soldiers dearly, so fighting formations are usually mechanised and deployed at platoon level. This grants them the protection, speed and tactical flexibility necessary to prevail.

Resistance Fighters

Every Resistance fighter can be considered a veteran, especially compared to fresh-faced, Colonial recruits. They have lived hard lives under enemy occupation and often hold their ground against impossible odds with grit and desperate hope. Ultimately though, they are not trained soldiers and tend to sport outdated kit of mixed vintage and pattern. Their primary weapon is normally the pre-war A12 Infantry Rifle, a fantastically reliable if unspectacular weapon, featuring basic digital sighting and a distinctive high-capacity sickle magazine. Fighters also carry homebrew, single-use RPGs, which make up for their crudeness with coordinated, seasoned fire.

Scourge Warriors

Warriors are the foot soldiers of the Scourge, conquered souls who must endure a much-extended lifetime of agonising neuro-suppression as a Scourge host. Most Scourge Warriors encountered in the 27th century are 200-year-old, age-halted former humans snared from mankind’s once littering cities. Fresher hosts are those unlucky to have been captured alive during the wars of Reconquest, or, rarely, vat-grown experiments.

Most carry the Plasma Rifle, a short-ranged, devastating weapon. As the projectile’s containment field fails, it releases molten plasma into the heart of the body, vaporizing it from within. Focused fire from these high-energy weapons can even liquefy vehicles.

Shaltari Braves

Shaltari line infantry (UCM designation – ‘Braves’) are formidable warriors. Shaltari counteract their diminutive stature by fighting in lithe, armoured Warsuits over eight feet in height. Their amazing agility often disturbs human observers, given their apparent bulk. Warsuits also feature a teleport web so can be transferred where needed without risk in transit. The Warsuit greatly enhances the user’s strength, empowering Braves to wield devastating small arms such as the Gauss Rifle and Discus Launcher. They also include miniaturised active countermeasures systems, reducing the effective range of enemy small-arms fire. This combination grants the standard Shaltari soldier the kind of power Colonial infantry grunts can only dream of.

PHR Immortals

The Immortals are the PHR’s core infantry, and that alone is formidable. A suite of military-grade cybernetics and punishing training make them implacable foes. Communing through thought alone, they fight in eerie silence, increasing tactical responsiveness and eroding enemy morale. Encased in body armour and able to shut off the pain response, these faceless warriors can stand firm against withering firepower.

Most Immortals carry the remarkable RXp-57 autosensing assault rifle, a belt-fed weapon which lay down sustained fire without reloading or touching a physical trigger. Squad firepower is augmented by the RXp-14 Longreach anti-materiel rifle for vehicle kills and sniping duties.

Bioficer Hulk Blades

Sharing the same formidable build of standard Hulks, these less common variants carry only a four-foot Decon Blade. They lack the finesse of thinking swordsmen, but they fight on relentlessly and unfeelingly despite any injury. Wielded with their formidable strength and inhuman speed, Decon Blades can slice effortlessly through the heaviest armour, reducing a foot-wide band of matter to atomic smoke as it passes. They have been known to lop turrets off tanks, but against a living target, the effect is excessive. They also use these blades to penetrate concrete walls, getting them into combat inside any building.

Bioficer Grubs & Epsilon

The Epsilon is the lowest level of Intelligence encountered on battlefields so far. Little more than a floating bio-printer, an Epsilon is no threat by itself. However, it uses its tiny Genitor system to spawn swarms of Grubs from harvested biomatter. Too small to be spawned with control headsets, Grubs are barely perceptive, hideous little mouths on legs imbued with just enough instinct to seek prey and bite. The Epsilon emits waves of ultrasound to stimulate seething masses of Grubs into the enemy, increasing their lethality and cohesion like a dark pied piper. Together, hordes of Grubs can envelop, bring down, and flense a victim to bloody scraps.

Bioficer Drones

The Bioficer Infantry Drone is one of the most basic infantry forms witnessed by the UCM. These disposable troops form the core of the as yet unidentified forces. These Drones carry devastating Decon weapons capable of deconstructing the organic matter of anything they hit.
